Name of Committee: Century Club
When does it meet (dates and times)? The Century Club has a banquet on the 3rd Thursday in May of every year, held from 6 until 8pm at the South Shore Country Club
What is the committee's purpose? The Century Club is a group of 100 students, top 25 from each of the 4 classes at HHS (freshman, sophomore, Junior, and Senior), who are picked each year based on their unweighted GPA. They are presented with a certificate and a water bottle at a banquet held at SSCC, hosted by the Hingham/Hull Rotary Club.
The Rotary Club pays for the meals of the honorees and the honored guests, as well as the water bottles. Parents/guests of honorees must pay for their own meals. Up to 2 guests per student may attend.
Invitations are sent out approximately 1 month prior to the event by HHS, with an RSVP to the Committee chairperson.
The committee is responsible for acting as liaison with the Rotary Club, SSCC and water bottle manufacturer. In addition, it is up to the Committee to be present at the banquet to check guests in, direct them where to go, and pay the SSCC for their portion (parents/guests) meals. Checks from parents/guests are given to the HHS treasurer and one check is cut made out to SSCC.
Approximately how many volunteers are needed? Two maximum
