Name of Committee: Hospitality
When does it meet (dates and times)? The two co-chairs meet monthly during the school year to discuss upcoming events for the teachers, staff and school at HHS. Typical events for which volunteers are asked to provide treats are:
September – Back to School Breakfast for teachers/staff
September – Sweets and drinks for Back to School Night. Pizza/drinks is also provided for the staff.
October – Halloween sweet treat spread
November – cookies in mailboxes
December – sweets or breakfast spread
February – Valentines sweet treat spread
March – Fine Arts Night
April – National Honor Society cake and water
April – pizza, salads, and raffle (about 8 items donated by community) for teachers/staff
May – Junior Books Awards
May – Senior Athletic Awards
June – end of school catered luncheon for teachers/staff
Where does it meet? At the high school, on the phone, or a member’s house.
What is the committee's purpose? The main purpose of the committee is to show appreciation to the teachers and staff on a monthly or bi-monthly basis by providing baked goods for certain events. Receptions for the Fine Arts Night, National Honor Society, the Junior Books Awards, and Senior Athletic Awards are also provided.
The committee creates welcoming planters at the front of the school.
