Name of Committee: Mini-Grant Committee
When does it meet (dates and times)? The Mini-Grant Committee meets only once or perhaps twice, usually during October when it is time to vote on the grant applications. The committee chair meets with Principal Rick Swanson when all applications have been submitted and then disburses the applications to the committee for their review. The committee then meets to vote on which applications to fund, either fully or partially.
Where does it meet? The location varies. Sometimes meetings have been held at the Hingham Public Library, the high school, or a private home.
What is the committee's purpose? The Mini-Grant Committee is responsible for disbursing a budgeted amount of funds for projects which support and enhance the curriculum at the high school and which may not be funded under the regular school budget. Such funding can provide for programs, field trips, speakers, equipment, demonstrations, and enrichment activities. Faculty and staff are invited to apply by submitting an application early in the year.
Approximately how many volunteers are needed? The committee works best with anywhere from 4 to 8 members.
