Name of committee? PTO Sport & Ski Sale Committee
When does it meet (dates and times)? The committee chairs set a date for sale usually in May before the school ends so that the date can be added to the school calendar. The sale date is typically set in November before Thanksgiving break. A core group of volunteers meet 2-4 times, as needed, in the early fall to plan the media release and determine ways to publicize the event. Our busiest time is the week of the event for drop off and sale.
Where does it meet? Meetings may take place at Committee Chairs’ homes or at local coffee shops.
What is the committee's purpose? This is the primary fundraiser for HHS PTO. It benefits the many programs supported through the PTO, such as mini-grants, Homework Club, Hospitality, Senior Night, Freshman Orientation, and scholarships.
Approximately how many volunteers are needed? A total of 28 parents and 32 student volunteers are needed. 3-4 core volunteers help with logistics of the event. These volunteers attend a few planning meetings and help oversee drop and sale. We also need approximately 12 parent volunteers and 16 student volunteers for both Friday and Saturday for the drop off of equipment and the Sport & Ski Sale. Volunteer hours are set in two shifts. First shift includes set up. Second Shift includes clean up.
